Chapter 207 Fooled
The interaction between Candice and Smither Gary was confusing for Lei Zhen.
Candice merely emitted some warm light, and Smither Gary seemed to have understood something right off the bat.
Luckily for Lei Zhen though, Candice kindly explained the situation to him.
"Dwarves and High elves have quite the history together, and there was a special way of transmitting one\'s mental image to another. I merely transmitted some of my memories for Senior Smither to witness and determine things on his own."
"I see… I didn\'t expect there to be this type of communication." Lei Zhen muttered softly.
Sometime later, Smither Gary turned his attention to Lei Zhen.
"Indeed, what I\'ve seen is different from what other slave owners would do." He calmly said.
However, before Lei Zhen could be happy about it, Smither Gary continued his words.
"Though it still doesn\'t change my original intention of rejecting your request. I stopped smithing for others a long time ago and preferred to work whatever and whenever I want."
"Can\'t there be any exceptions?" Lei Zhen pestered and continued to pray for the best.
He already knew it would be nigh impossible to have Smither Gary agree to his request right away.
After all, Smither Gary had to reallocate himself in such an unknown area from the public to avoid people from requesting his smithing skills.
"Yes, Senior Smither, please help my Master," Candice interjected and bowed her head as well.
Lei Zhen\'s words didn\'t seem to have an effect on Smither Gary, but Candice\'s words seemed to have some effect as he began to waver a bit.
"The high elves species have helped me quite a bit in the past, but that was a long time ago. I also crafted some of my best works as gratitude for them." Smither Gary said calmly.
Seeing his wavering, Candice decided to go for it and bring up her ability, "The wind told me you would definitely help my Master."
"The wind?" Smither Gary raised an eyebrow.
"You can communicate with the wind?" He asked in an alarming tone.
Before Candice could reply though, Smither Gary unleashed his aura and his eyes turned bright blue, seemingly being able to penetrate the depth of Candice to spy on her ability.
Candice got quite a shock and nearly collapsed to the ground if it wasn\'t for Lei Zhen\'s timely assistance to hold her up.
Although Lei Zhen didn\'t know what had happened, he knew Smither Gary must have done something to her.
Thus, he retrieved his staff and was ready to fight against Smither Gary even if his chances were slim.
"Apologies, I was just trying to verify something and did not mean any harm to her." This time, it was Smither Gary apologizing for his actions.
Lei Zhen didn\'t bother to reply and merely turned around, his hands still holding up Candice.
Based on his action, Lei Zhen no longer had the intention to request help.
Who knows if Smither Gary decided to do some verification again and harm Candice without notice?
The risk was not worth it, and Lei Zhen could only blame his bad luck to come all the way here.
"Wait, Master, aren\'t you going to request Senior Smither for help?" Candice said weakly when she realized she was being held by him to leave the area.
"No need, we can just request a blacksmith in Cinderton. It might not be as great as Smither Gary, but at least they wouldn\'t show such an attitude." Lei Zhen replied.
pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ Alas, Lei Zhen didn\'t expect Candice to wiggle out of his arms and smiled apologetically.
"Master is lying. You still wished for his assistance, but didn\'t want to because you were concerned for my feelings, right?"
"Didn\'t I order you not to read my mind again?" Lei Zhen twitched his brows and said annoyingly.
"I know Master wouldn\'t blame me," Candice giggled softly and returned back to Smither Gary.
She held a solemn expression and said, "Senior Smither, I believe your action was uncalled for, but I shall forgive you. The wind told me you are merely curious and did not mean any harm."
Smither Gary remained silent and waited patiently because he could sense Candice had more to say.
"As you can see previously, the concern my Master has for me far surpasses his intention of wanting to request your smithing work. But as a slave and someone who regards my Master as number one, I beg for you to accept my Master\'s request." She said politely and bowed her head.
Smither Gary crossed his arms and sighed softly. "Since you can communicate with the wind which is one in a million possibilities for the high elves to have, I suppose this is fate."
"Master, quickly tell him your request." Candice\'s face was filled with smiles as she urged Lei Zhen to reveal his request.
"Wait a minute, I haven\'t even agreed yet-"
"Hmph, I don\'t care. You didn\'t reject my words, so it means yes. As a reputed blacksmith, you wouldn\'t dare renege, right?" She started to act like a scoundrel, shocking the two people present.
Seeing her enthusiasm, Lei Zhen naturally didn\'t want to disappoint and proceeded with his requests.
"I wish to have a weapon that can transform between a gun and a normal staff."
"There, my Master has said it. So can you or can you not smith such a work?"
For some reason, Smither Gary felt like he was trapped in some sort of pyramid scheme as he was now being scammed into accepting the work.
"Hmph, the two of you have been acting and were fooling me all along." Smither Gary snorted coldly.
Candice shrugged her shoulders in response.
"Where there is false, some truth exists within it. And it doesn\'t nullify the fact that you inspected me without permission. Therefore, please assist my Master and we\'ll call it even." She smiled smugly.
Smither Gary narrowed his eyes as he truly wished he had not interacted with them in the first place. \'I should have just kicked them out from the start so I could have avoided this.\'
