Chapter 138 Evolution
With the announcement from Lei Zhen, every soldier began moving to their assigned position and the scouter was on the lookout.
Despite the movement of a thousand people, not a single sound could be heard from their footsteps alone.
Of course, that doesn\'t mean the soldiers are lazy, but what it meant was that the soldiers were all well-trained.
Only when you can have an army of thousand people with soundless movement does it mean you attain the highest achievement.
After all, it meant a thousand people could sneakily arrive at your doorstep and you wouldn\'t even realize it because not a sound was heard.
\'Sigh, the more I look at this, the more I wonder how we players can even survive in this world. The NPC is way too freaking awesome.\' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
If he tried to do an image with his mind and replaced those thousand soldiers with players instead, he was sure the scene would become chaotic and arguments would erupt every second.
Shaking his head, Lei Zhen stopped thinking about the horrific image and turned his attention toward Gazolth.
"Is Chief Jaruk still residing in the cave?" Lei Zhen asked.
Gazolth shook its tail for a moment and replied, "No, ever since we annexed the other monsters, we reside somewhere else now. Chief Jaruk said the cave is not enough for all of us to reside in so we temporarily built another similar habitat a bit far from the cave."
"I see… that\'s understandable considering the number of monsters you\'ll have to take care of now."
By annexing other monsters, the Lizardark would naturally become the king of the swamp, but responsibility naturally comes along with it.
You\'ll need to have a habitat for every monster and enough food for all of them. Otherwise, being the king of the swamp would be nothing more than a joke that might crumble at any minute.
Sometime later, under the guidance of Gazolth, Lei Zhen followed him to their new habitat alongside three elite guards behind.
Although Evan wished to send more guards to escort Lei Zhen, it was denied because Lei Zhen didn\'t want the Lizardark to mistake that he was vigilant towards them.
Meanwhile, Gazolth stood before two Lizardark imposing a fierce aura as he relayed the news.
"I have brought the guest that Chief Jaruk wishes to meet."
The moment Gazolth finished his words, the two Lizardark retracted their aura and moved to the side, allowing Lei Zhen and his three guards to walk through.
Through the path, Lei Zhen noticed species along the way other than the Lizardark.
\'Damn, these monsters\' efficiency in annexing others is really frightening. Luckily, we already made a deal that so long as none of us cross the lines, we would not fight.\' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
At the current rate, the monsters living in the swamp might become a new territory that could be on par with Yors Castle.
A few minutes later, Gazolth brought them beside Chief Jaruk, who seemed to be much more vigorous than before. In fact, his appearance changed a bit, almost as if he was reborn to his youthful days.
"A-Are you really Chief Jaruk?" Lei Zhen opened his mouth and asked, unsure of whether it was someone else instead.
"Indeed, I am Chief Jaruk, Chancellor of Yors Castle. It was just that I have evolved into Greater Lizardark thanks to the annexation of other monsters in the swamp." Chief Jaruk laughed heartily, explaining the change in his appearance.
From an old Lizadark that was on his way to death by old age into one that is filled with vigor and a youthful look, anyone would have been shocked by the drastic change.
Thus, Chief Jaruk didn\'t mind Lei Zhen asking such a question.
After all, monsters undergoing evolution were uncommon and most of them usually failed to obtain the necessary process to evolve.
Not to mention, the chance of succeeding in evolving was really low.
Hence, Chief Jaruk was grateful to Lei Zhen for the opportunity, otherwise, he would have never evolved in the first place.
"Anyway, I have a question for you, Chief Jaruk." Lei Zhen said. "Have you seen many irregular Goblin Mob near the swamp lately?"
Chief Jaruk pondered for a moment before nodding his head.
"Now that you mentioned it, my subordinate indeed scouted numerous Goblin Mobs around the vicinity. Though they were all easily slain by my subordinate, so I didn\'t pay it much to my mind."
"As expected, Goblin Mobs are numerous in the swamp now." Lei Zhen said and proceeded to explain that the Goblin Mobs are most likely summoned creatures of the black mage, mainly for scouting work.
In other words, Lei Zhen guessed that his presence had long been detected by the black mage back when he was first transported to Lux Forest.
It was just that he was like an ant that the black mage didn\'t bother, similar to how Chief Jaruk didn\'t pay this incident much to mind until he brought it up.
"Anyway, Chancellor of Yors Castle, we have done what you asked for, so what\'s the next plan for us?" Chief Jaruk asked.
"I wish for you to mobilize the other monster to surround the perimeter and continue the slaying job of any foreign monster." Lei Zhen said.
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ Since the black mage was capable of summoning thousands of monsters without limit as long as it could supply the summoning circle with mana.
Then Lei Zhen would also mobilize an army comparable to that number.
The only difference?
His army would be much superior and intelligent than random summoned monsters. And the additional bonus was that he didn\'t need to waste mana like the black mage needed to do.
\'Heh, at this rate, I might look like a bully instead.\' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
Nevertheless, he would not hold back his firepower and give the black mage another chance to escape.
"Once this matter is done, you can develop your species in the swamp without worries. And I do hope we can have further cooperation in the future." Lei Zhen said before turning around to leave.
